Most kids and teenagers are always locked in their room after school, either playing on their PS3, XBOX or WII. They are either on their computer games or the Internet or listening to music. I haven’t really met a kid or a teen who would like to spend time with their family after school. Either its the kids who go straight to their room after school, if not then the parents tell them to go do their homework and then when they go up they never come down till the dinner is ready. When this happens it grows up them and they spend less and less time with their family on their days off from school and this means the relationship between the parents and the kids can be falling apart.

I did a questionnaire research in my school few months ago asking kids on what they would like to do on their holidays. Shockingly they admitted they would love to go on cruises with their parents other than doing the same thing over and over again which is visit their relatives. Hey it wasn’t me who said it, it was the kids. Then I asked them where they would like to go? Most of them said they would love to go on a royal Caribbean cruises and some said Holland American line cruises. It is amazing isn’t it, I bet you never thought your kid will come up with that answer. I have certainly realized that kids nowadays are far more intelligent than before.

So parents take your kids on a cruising holiday this summer. This way you can bring your family close together so don’t look at it as a holiday. Spending fun times together is a great way of family bonding. You will also learn a great deal about each other on this trip and this is very important for any family.

Many people actually spend a lot of time in the kitchen and more often than not it’s a very lonely affair perhaps cooking dinner for you or for the entire family all by lonesome. It isn’t something that should be done as cooking for everyone can be fun.

Basically in our house we try to get together around 3 times a week that is me, the wife and the kids and we actually cook together for each other and it is a bit of a laugh.

We get together just before the dinner commences and think of a dish we have never cooked or not cooked in a while and I will then rush out and get the things we need. The only thing that we are very serious about (because of the kids) is the oven but other than this we have a great time and have cooked some pretty weird but good tasting dishes. Other than being serious about the oven it is a great way to mess about.

On top of all of this we like to have a bit of a cook off at various times in the year where we will all give a dish a go and the best one wins money (only works with the kids).

We have tried lots of other things too but it would seem that the kids have a lot of fun when it comes to cooking, especially with the desserts!

Nearly everyone out there has had a go with one of those Model Kits at some stage during your life and I will say that my experiences with model trains have changed me a lot. This was not the really expensive Hornby train set that a lot of people go for but it was an old wind up one that went in a circle. Although this doesn’t sound that great to a six yr old kid this is simply amazing and I have to say that along with the whistle that I blew every single time the train went past a certain point, it filled my days at my Nan’s house with a lot of joy.

Of course when I got a little older I started to wind the trains up as high as they could go just to see if I could derail them which they did from time to time. It is pretty funny to see how destructive a child gets when they get a bit older. It was just after this time where my opinion on model kits changed and I got my first RC Helicopter. This was an awesome gift as I immediately wanted to build the thing and luckily my father had managed to take a couple of days off around my birthday to help me build the thing.

After a good day or so building it we were ready for the flight and it was pretty awesome to fly the thing. Of course you have to bear in mind that this wasn’t the professional Nitro Helicoptersthat you often see people flying today but a cheap one that seemed easy to put together but turned out not to be.

It is always good to have memories and I feel that building a model kit with someone that you love in the family is a great way to do this.
