To paint a clear picture, if you were a melee class fighting a monster of your level, depending on your items and skill level, there always was a 20% chance you could lose that fight. After such encounters, you had to sit down to regenerate for several minutes. Same was for casters, all though most spots were no good for them to level in because nothing had to hit him else the caster would be interrupted and loose the fight.

Leveling isn’t so hard nowadays. I’ve seen hard PvE and also kept at it for years so trust me when I say that no one needs that. That is why when I started playing Aion, I immediately looked for an Aion guide. You can imagine how fed up I am of getting lost in PvE and not advancing very fast. That is why I find it weird when someone calls me lazy or weak to have to get an Aion guide to be able to level up. They probably haven’t played the hardcore games I have, only the newer, much easier ones.

Aion is a beautiful game, and I didn’t want to corrupt that image by struggling with the XP and stress over each death. In my opinion, not using the help of a guide means that you don’t really like the game and are just convincing yourself not to play it.
